BE Personal Accident

As riders we are always looking out for our horses and often forget about putting cover in place for ourselves.

The British Eventing Personal Accident policy created in conjunction with KBIS provides cover for any accidents sustained whilst riding and handling horses, whether at home, schooling or out competing. The unpredictability of horses and eventing means it is always worth having cover in place for situations you hope will not occur.

One benefit of the KBIS British Eventing Personal Accident policy is Temporary Total Disability. This pays a weekly amount should you suffer an injury which leaves you temporarily unable to carry out your normal occupation/business. The policy pays out exactly as shown for the level of cover taken out rather than being matched to income by providing invoices, which may not only be more beneficial but more convenient at an already difficult time.  Payment comes into effect after the first 21 days and is payable for up to 104 weeks, providing valuable peace of mind whilst you are unable to work.

Another benefit of the policy is Loss of Equipment. If any clothing or protective equipment is damaged whilst being removed following an accident, such as riding boots having to be cut off, the policy will pay out up to £500, less the policy excess of £100.

The policy also provides Catastrophe Payouts. In the event of an accident resulting in serious injury, this page/table details the lump sum benefit entitlement, depending on the level of cover selected. Whether you are a member of British Eventing as a professional rider or just for fun, there are different cover levels to choose from, plus a specific level available for junior riders aged 16 years and under.

The Insurer will also pay a maximum of £5,000 (less the policy excess of £100) increased Travel Expenses if you sustain an injury while competing abroad and incur additional costs to get home again.
