Jayne Ross has been riding since she was young, although her parents never rode seriously they were very involved with sport, with Jayne’s Mother Pat Devries representing Great Britain in ice skating at the Oslo Olympics and Jayne’s Father Freddie Williams being World Speedway Champion in 1950 and 1953.
Jayne’s first major showing success came in 1966 where she took the Pony of the Year title at Horse of the Year Show (HOYS) riding Cusop Pirouette. She has however not kept to the showing ring, having evented up to Advanced level, represented Great Britain in combined training, ridden in point to points and trained 48 winners under point to point rules as well as holding a National Hunt licence.
Over the years Jayne has taken 5 Supreme titles at both HOYS and the Royal International Horse Show (RIHS) and in 2015 Jayne was inducted into the British Horse Society’s Hall of Fame and this year was named as one of the 50 all-time Equestrian Greats in Horse & Hound.
Jayne is currently based at Moor Farm in Holyport, Berkshire where she will be producing around 20 horses including the reigning RIHS Supreme Light Weight Hunter, Time to Reflect owned by the Stennett Family and the reigning Supreme Show Hunter of the Year, Bloomfield Excelsior.
We are very much looking forward to following Jayne and her team throughout the year.
