In 2011 KBIS started to support the National Schools Equestrian Association (NSEA) with their National Dressage Series and it has grown from strength to strength every year since. Offering classes from Preliminary to Elementary level with both team and individual competitions, the final is incorporated as part of the NSEA Championship, held annually in October at Addington Manor.
Established for twenty five years, the NSEA works hard to promote equestrian sports in both State and Independent schools across Great Britain, encouraging riding at all levels. Working together with the British Horse Society, many schools now include riding as an option for both GCSE and A level P.E.
In 2016 KBIS took on title sponsorship of the NSEA Championships which along with the dressage classes holds individual and team showjumping and jumping with style competitions ranging from 70cm up to 1.10m. The Championships is the highlight in the calendar, running across four days with over 180 schools taking part.
You can find out more about NSEA events, including how to register your school on the NSEA website - National Schools Equestrian Association
In addition to our sponsorship of the NSEA Championships, KBIS also award two yearly £500 training bursaries to NSEA members. Further details can be found below.
KBIS NSEA Training Bursary
KBIS introduced a training bursary in 2014 with the aim of assisting NSEA members in their riding through providing the recipients with £500 to be put towards training with an instructor of their choice. As part of the package branded clothing for the horse and rider is also supplied and we also encourage the winner to provide monthly blogs, which are used on KBIS' social media channels, to keep us up to date with their progress. This also provides a valuable incite in to some of the duties of a sponsored rider.
Entries for the 2017 bursary will open in March, there are two age categories 14 years and under and 15 years and over. All entries are via video submission and further details on the entry process will be available on our website shortly.
Below are the video submissions from our 2016 bursary winners, Josh & Tilly
