Izzy has been riding since she can remember, which isn't surprising coming from a horse orientated family - Izzy's mother represented her country at both Junior and Young rider level and her great aunt was the first person to win both the prestigious Burghley and Badminton titles.
Izzy's first eventing success came when she represented England at Under 21 level achieving a team silver and individual bronze. She now has her own yard near Banbury and has gone on to have numerous successes at senior level. Including completing her first Badminton in 2011, finishing seventh at her debut Burghley in 2012 and going on to make her debut Senior Team performance at the 2013 Europeans and being part of the winning GBR Nations Cup Squad in the same year.
Her successes and consistent performances over the last few years has made her fast become one of Britain's leading event riders - she is currently third in the British Eventing rankings and 2016 saw her first Olympic call up for Rio. Unfortunately due to her horse sustaining an injury she was unable to make her Olympic debut appearance.
KBIS has been supporting Izzy for the past nine years and were one of her very first sponsors back in 2008. The sponsorship came about after the purchase of the five-year-old grey gelding KBIS Starchaser (Star). At the time Izzy had just come out of Young riders and it was through the Young Rider Chairman, a mutual friend and joint owner, Alex Colquhoun that we were introduced to Izzy and the long-standing role of owner and sponsor began. The following year, through the same contact, KBIS Starlet (Doris), a seven-year-old Belgium bred mare, was purchased, and five years on both horses were competing at Advanced level. Both Star and Starlet are now retired from eventing
In 2013 KBIS extended their support of Izzy further, sponsoring her top ride Briarlands Matilda and with the purchase of another youngster, the six-year-old Irish sports horse KBIS Starburst (Rich).
Both Starlet and Star now have new career paths having retired from eventing, Starlet as a broodmare and Star can now be seen on the dressage circuit with para-dressage rider Charlotte Cundall. Matilda and Rich were both sidelines during 2016 due to injury but are now back on track. We had a very exciting day at Belton where Rich took the CIC*** title and we are very much looking forward to watching Matilda return to Badminton for the sixth year.
It has been wonderful to watch Izzy rise to the very top of the sport, to see the hard work and dedication she has put in over the years pay off and we are very proud to have her as our sponsored rider and to be a part of 'Team Taylor.'
