Join Our Horsebox Team!

Horsebox/Motor Policy Administrator, Newbury, Hybrid role

Let us introduce ourselves… We are KBIS, a leading equine insurance specialist in the UK. With over 30 years of experience, we are experts in our field! Expect the unexpected, think you’ll be working in an office surrounded by suits? Think again, you can find us in a converted barn on the outskirts of Newbury!

You and your new teammates can go on an adventure of a lunchtime, exploring all the countryside has to offer and being welcomed back by horses, chickens and dogs on-site – if you’re an animal lover, this role is certainly for you! If you have a well-behaved dog, we are also happy for them to join you when working from the office.

Thinking about future you. We love our family feel in the countryside but being part of a wider group based in London, allows us to get the best of both worlds with our parent company SRG. We regularly attend events throughout the year at their office (or a chosen hotspot), to network and expand our knowledge with like-minded individuals.

We want to invest in you from day one, if you’re keen to add qualifications to your resume and further your career at KBIS, we provide an opportunity to fund your CII Insurance Exams – and of course, support you every step of the way. Alongside our competitive salary, you will be rewarded with a generous benefits package that includes healthcare, 25 days holiday, life assurance and a defined contribution pension scheme.

We’re hoping you are/have:

  • Enthusiastic – We want everyone to genuinely enjoy coming to work, to do so all team members need to love what they do and most importantly who they work with! We want nothing but good vibes from 9 – 5:30pm, can you bring that to the table?
  • Willingness to learn – Although insurance experience would be hugely beneficial, we are keen to meet all with potential. If you lack insurance experience but are proactive in wanting to develop in the industry and your career, we would love to train you into an expert!
  • You are a people person – A lot of our queries come via telephone, so you will need to be a confident communicator, especially when dealing with clients
  • The ability to prioritise your workload, meet deadlines and remain calm under pressure
  • A keen eye for detail, nothing gets past you! You will be able to deliver accurate information to clients/teammates and are always on hand to find a solution to any problems that may arise
  • Experience using Excel & Microsoft Office
  • Bonus points if you have worked in a regulatory environment and understand the principles of motor insurance (again, not a necessity, just a nice to have!)

What your day to day will look like:

  • Building relationships via email/telephone, handling incoming customer service queries and sales calls
  • Produce and issue quotations and new business documents
  • Process mid-term adjustments, renewals and cancellations as required
  • Communicate with Policyholders, Brokers and Underwriters via telephone, email and in writing

Full training will be provided. Please submit your CV alongside an application letter to

We can’t wait to meet you!
