Emily Pope comes out on top at Aldon

Aldon Horse TrialsEmily Pope and Kelsons Lottery claimed the first of the KBIS ONu18 qualifiers at the weekend, jumping one of just three double clears in the section at popular south west event, Aldon Horse Trials.

This was the combinations first win together since Emily started partnering the 11 year old mare in 2010, last year also completing their first three day event at the KBIS ONu18 CCI* Championships at Weston Park.

Izzy Hocking held on to her second place after dressage when she added just 8.4 time penalties onto her score of 34.5 with Tamera Bay, while an unfortunate pole in the show jumping meant that Melissa Townshend had to settle for third place after leading the dressage phase on a good mark on 30.5. Melissa, who only took on the ride of Selrite M at the end of last season, also took fourth place on her mare, My Good Friday.

The next of the KBIS ONu18(Q) will be running over the last weekend in March at both Belton and Goring Heath.
