Michael Webber claims the KBIS South Berkshire Pony Club Bursary

A delighted Michael was this year’s winner of the KBIS training bursary, a yearly award for a member of local Pony Club, South Berkshire. Michael has been a member of the Pony Club for nine years, competing in numerous teams within showjumping, eventing and tetrathlon as well as pony racing. Suffering from severe Dyspraxia he does however find it difficult to balance when riding due to weakness in his back muscles and core stability. With the bursary Michael is hoping to be able to get some specialist physio to help with his riding as well as concentrating on some flatwork lessons, which he hopes will also help to improve his position and his feel for the horse – despite not particularly enjoying this discipline!

Runners for the bursary were Emma Thomas and her horse Bobby and Emma Durcan and her pony Wuzi, both very worthy candidates for the award.

We will keep up to date with Michael and his progress over the next year and would like to thank all of the members who sent in their applications, it was a difficult decision to make.
