Charlotte has been a part of the KBIS team since 2007 and works in the claims department as a Claims Handler as well as dealing with the KBIS Irish Horse Business. Having been riding since 3 years of age, on a Shetland called Archie, Charlotte took to show jumping whilst in the Pony Club, becoming a valued member of the clubs show jumping team. She then moved on and formed part of the riding team at the University of London and has competed up to Foxhunter level on her previous horse George who is now enjoying a quieter life.
Charlotte brought Chloes Darco as a 4 year old from her breeder Sue Welch, she is by the stallion Unbelievable Darco out of a palomino Joli Coeur mare of Sue's. Known as Hippo at home, as apparently she looked like one when she was born! They have had a very good competition record to date, with wins at both British Novice and Discovery level in 2009 and 2010 and are now jumping double clears in 1.05m and 1.10m classes.
Charlotte is based and trains with show jumper Ally Foxley, at her yard Ash Park in Hampshire, where she has been for just over a year. Charlotte tends to ride in the evenings after work and weekends are usually spent with a lorry full of horses traveling to shows. ' Working for a company who understand horses and the time involved with them really makes a difference and KBIS are extremely supportive of my show jumping. KBIS put a lot back into equestrian disciplines through sponsorship and with their own horses competing in eventing it is great to be able to follow their careers and attend events to support the sponsorship that goes on.
