KBIS British Equestrian Insurance – Olympia Awards

KBIS British Equestrian Insurance was delighted to support the Dressage Show Jumping and Event Horse of the Year Awards at this year’s London International Horse Show at Olympia.

The KBIS British Equestrian Insurance Dressage Horse of the Year was awarded to Mr President, owned and ridden by Steph Croxford. This 13-year-old 16.1hh chestnut gelding was originally bred in Ireland by an unknown Gelderlander X Hackney stallion out of a Dutch Warmblood mare.

From the world of showjumping The KBIS British Equestrian Insurance Show Jumper of the Year Award went to Arko III for an unprecedented fourth year. Arko III is owned by John Hales and Lisa Hales, and ridden by Nick Skelton. This remarkable 16.2hh. bay stallion has had yet another successful year and is placed number one in the BSJA rankings. Nick and Arko lll won the Leipzig World Cup earlier this year where they jumped one of only three clear rounds in the jump-off.

The KBIS British Equestrian Event Horse of the Year was awarded to Flint Curtis, owned by Edward and Robert Nicholson, and ridden by Oliver Townend. In 2007 Flint Curtis and rider Oliver Townend amassed 378 British Eventing points adding to their tally nearly every time out during their 10 outings this season.

Presentations were made by Guy and Liz Prest, of KBIS British Equestrian Insurance, with an engraved silver salver, KBIS British Equestrian Insurance rug, and rosette being awarded. Said Guy: “We are delighted to support the KBIS British Equestrian Insurance Horse of the Year Awards. The three horses, Mr President, Arko III and Flint Curtis are very special athletes and together with their riders have made a huge impact on their individual discipline.”
