LAURA Renwick captured the KBIS British Equestrian Insurance 6-Year-Old Championship at the Horse of the Year Show.
Based in Maldon, Essex, Laura captured the title riding Sandra Keaveney’s Beluga II who was on great form throughout the show. The bay mare jumped the fastest double clear round crossing the finishing line in 36.64 seconds to take the KBIS British Equestrian Insurance title on the Friday afternoon.
Second place went to the 2006 winner Phillip Miller, this time riding Di and Pennie Cornish’s bay stallion, Univeau who galloped to the end in 39.40 seconds.
There was much delight from the KBIS support team after this year’s KBIS British Equestrian Insurance Scholar seventeen-year-old Daniel Moseley took third place riding Fiona Down’s Utopia Red, finishing in 39.92 seconds.
Said Liz Prest of KBIS British Equestrian Insurance: “There was a great atmosphere at the final which provided some excellent showjumping at its very best. “Laura’s round was exceptional and obviously we were all very pleased for Daniel as he was chosen as our 2007 scholar so it is wonderful to see him go and do so well in our sponsored competition.”
