Althea Wins Thirlestane JRN Section G And H!

PRESS RELEASE

Althea Bleekman, based in Devon, secured first place at Thirlestane Castle Scottish Championships Horse Trials in the KBIS British Equestrian Insurance Junior Regional Novice Sections G and H.

Althea (15) won one section on her 14hh mare, Nightgirl 002 with a good dressage score of 32.9 penalties and completed the show jumping and cross-country phases only adding 2.8 penalties to their final score. Section G was taken by the 14.2hh mare May Flower, with an excellent dressage score of 34.3 collecting only 3.6 penalties on the cross-country time and finishing 0.5 penalties ahead of second place.

Said Althea: “It was a total surprise when I had found out I had won; especially on both my ponies – they are both little stars! May Flower has already competed round two British Eventing events at Intermediate level. She really knows how to jump and carry herself in the dressage arena too against all those handsome bigger horses.”

Althea’s dream is to be picked for the Junior European team next year, and with her team of five horses and ponies, and support from the owners and her family, she is on the right track.
