Elizabeth Scott, based in Leyburn, North Yorkshire, secured first place at Skipton Hill Horse Trials in the KBIS British Equestrian Junior Regional Novice Section.
Elizabeth (16) won on her 10-year-old gelding, Paddiwack with a good dressage score of 36.7 and completed the show jumping and cross-country phases with 4.0 penalties. Known as Paddy, the skewbald has been competing in the KBIS British Equestrian Insurance JRN’s all season and managed to secure his first rosette this season.
Said Elizabeth: “It was a total surprise when I had found out I won. Due to the weather, the ground was soft but it was nice to finally have an event to go to. I am going to carry on at Novice level for the rest of the season and try to really concentrate on working towards Weston Park.”
Elizabeth also has another horse called Westmount Charlie, who is currently competing in his second season at Pre Novice level.
