Tim Rogers, based in Axminster, in Devon, secured first place at Longleat International Horse Trials last weekend, in the KBIS British Equestrian Insurance Junior Regional Novice Section.
Riding his 16hh homebred gelding, Tim was lying fifth after dressage and finished on a score of 32.70 after accumulating 3.6 time penalties on the cross-country. It is the first season of Novice level for his ride, Corrieview Owen, after competing with Tim’s mother last season at Pre-Novice level.

Said Tim: “It was a total surprise when I had found out I won, the score was so close between first and second place; I was so overjoyed. Owen is just eight-years-old, and is still quite young for an eventer; so we’re going to stay at Novice level for this season so we will be certain that we can move up to Intermediate level next year.”
