Dominic Waldron, based in Crediton, near Devon, took a first place at Longleat Horse Trials last weekend in the KBIS British Equestrian Insurane Junior Regional Novice Section.
Dominic (16) won on his 16.1hh chestnut gelding, Robbie IV with a good dressage score of 27.6 and completed the show jumping and cross-country with only 0.8 cross-country time penalties.
Said Dominic: “It was a total surprise when I had found out I won. It was totally unexpected to win when it’s only our second JRN we have entered. We’ve owned Robbie for just eight months and to win a JRN class already makes me really proud. I’m looking forward to the season ahead at Stockland Lovell (2) and hopefully we will move up to Intermediate level by the end of the season.”
