Eugenia Chapman Campbell, based in Jedburgh, in the Scottish Borders, secured first place at Hexham Horse Trials in the KBIS British Equestrian Junior Regional Novice Section.
Eugenia won on her 16.1hh gelding with a good dressage score of 26.2 with completed the show jumping and cross-country phases without any penalties. Known as Frenchie, her ride Chevalier Du Bois started the season well with having already won three JRN’s.
Said Eugenia: “It was a total surprise when I had found out I won, especially when I had won by 6.7 penalties; I was so overjoyed. I have two more horses, Another Mcquade, who is competing at Novice level, and Stone Havens Lady B, who is also competing at Novice level.”
For the rest of the season Eugenia and Frenchie hope to continue their successes and plan to move up to Intermediate level towards the end of the season.
