The series which attracts many of the country’s top young horses takes place at some of the leading summer shows with the highest placed 24 from the points league going through to the final at the Horse of the Year Show in October. With the aim of producing international level horses, the KBIS British Equestrian Insurance 6-year-old Championship is highly regarded.
At the qualifiers points are awarded to the horses that jump a double clear and the combinations six best placings through the series are considered for the final selection. Liz Prest of KBIS British Equestrian Insurance said: “We are really looking forward to supporting the 6-year-old Championship and are hoping the sponsorship will go some way to helping produce the British team horses of the future. “The venues for the qualifiers all have wonderful competition rings where horses can begin to get used to competing in front of a large audience and in a ring where there is real atmosphere.”
