The KBIS British Equestrian Dressage
Horse of the Year was awarded to Manitu-N, a 14.2hh 15-year-old bay,
owned by Tracey Harrison and ridden by Samantha Harrison.
This remarkable stallion was originally brought to the UK from
Germany by Ian Woodhead and Ferdi Eilberg, and has been at the
forefront of British Pony Dressage for the past eight years,
carrying three different young riders to success.
The KBIS British Equestrian Show Jumping Horse of the Year was
awarded to Arko lll; a 16.2hh, 12-year-old owned by John Hales and
Lisa Hales, and ridden by Nick Skelton.

This stallion ranked number 1 from September 2005- August 2006, and
was awarded the Leading Nations Cup Horse and Leading Horse at the
BSJA Ball in January. This year he has won many prizes around the
globe including winning the Dubai Classic, the Longines Grand Prix
in Lucerne, and the Castle Ashby Grand Prix.
The KBIS British Equestrian Event Horse of the year Award was
awarded to Toytown, a 15-year-old 17hh gelding, owned by Zara
Phillips.
Toytown and Zara Phillips rode into the record books this year after
a remarkable victory in The World Equestrian Games in Aachen in
August when they landed the World Championship title and helped the
British Team win the Team Silver Medal; the first British rider to
do so for 10 years.

Tracey Harrison was awarded a Bronze Head of the Pony, together with
a KBIS rug and bottle of champagne. John and Lisa Hales received a
Silver Salver and a KBIS rug, and a bottle of champagne was awarded
to Nick Skelton. Zara Phillips, owner of Toytown, also received a
Silver Salver and a bottle of champagne, along with a KBIS rug for
Toytown.
Each of these prizes were awarded by Guy Prest of KBIS British
Equestrian. “We are delighted to support the KBIS British Equestrian

Manitu-N are very special athletes and together with their riders
have made a huge impact on their individual discipline.” Said Guy
