Capturing the Grade I Kbis Disabled Dressage Rider
Championships, Lee and Blue Circle Boy were on excellent form. Based
at Leek in Staffordshire, Lee was very pleased with the performance
of the big dun gelding he has such a great rapport with.
Lee and Blue Circle Boy, who is known as Gus at home, are multi
Paralympic gold medallists and have also tasted success competing in
able bodied competition.
“I have to be careful in the para dressage competitions because the
judges are looking for something quite different to when I compete
in able bodied dressage and I have to remember that,” said Lee.
“Both of us can become a bit switched off and quite lazy so I have
to make sure we are both competing at our best.
“We have recently been busy with para training and are working
towards the World Championships in 2007.
“I was very pleased with our test. Blue Circle Boy is now 12 and
really knows his job, he came up with the goods in the championship
and I couldn’t be more pleased.”
As well as Blue Circle Boy, Lee has some young horses at home but is
currently looking for a horse to compete in between his stalwart
partner and the three-year-olds.
