K
bis 2006 Scholarship - Daniel Moseley’s Diary

KBIS British Equestrian Insurance Scholar Daniel Moseley has had another busy month competing.

Here we catch up with him in his latest diary.

June 2007

After my hectic month in May, I have been competing at the more local shows throughout June.

At the beginning of the month I competed at Bramham International Horse Trials on Lucy May, Port Royal, U2 The First and Shadow Breaker. Lucy May competed in the Holroyd Construction Grand Prix class and jumped really well, achieving a fourth place. Shadow Breaker and Port Royal also jumped really well in the 1.30m class Port Royal taking second and Shadow Breaker finishing third.

I also competed in the Grade C at Bramham and came fifth on U2 The First, which was great.

Seen as it’s such a busy time of the year, all of the horses are staying in work at the moment. Apart from the four-year-old, Waldo, who is having a summer of grass for a bit of a break.

I competed at the Lincolnshire Show this month in the speed classes on Port Royal and Shadow Breaker. They both jumped really well and I enjoyed the day, especially as the weather held off for us!

I also entered the Area Trial class with Lucy May. We had a really good round as this was a large class. Unfortunately, we didn’t get placed but Lucy May really enjoyed going round the main arena with everyone watching her.

Next month I will be continuing competing in the 6-year-old Series with Utopia Red and U2 The First, including the meeting at Hickstead. Just before Hickstead, I will be taking Lucy May, Port Royal and Shadow Breaker to the Royal Norfolk Show. I’m looking forward to this as it will set my competitive mind up for the Hickstead meeting which will follow. I am also entering in the HOYS qualifiers with Utopia Red and U2 The First, to try and get our place at the Horse of the Year Show - so fingers crossed for that!

Will write soon - Daniel.
