K
bis 2006 Scholarship - Daniel Moseley’s Diary

As part of our exciting scholarship scheme, our 2006 scholar Daniel Moseley will be keeping us up to date with his busy life in the show jumping world.

KBIS British Equestrian Scholar has had a busy month competing here we catch up with him in his latest diary.

February 2007

I feel I have been on quite good form this month. We went to a show at Arena UK near Grantham where I competed on Think Twice.  I was really pleased with how he went and managed to win a class which was great.  The win saw us qualify for Hickstead later on this season in July. I was so pleased to not only win, but to qualify Think Twice for the Winter Novice class, he’s done really well.

We also went out last weekend to Birstwith where I competed in a Performance qualifier class on Utopia Red and Think Twice. Think Twice jumped incredibly well again to win a class while Utopia Red claimed a fourth place for good measure.

Along with the results this month, we have been moving yards just down the road from us and are now based in a village called Mattersey. The facilities here are excellent and all you could wish for including an all weather ménage, 14 stables and a wash box for the horses after exercise and when we are getting them ready for a show. As well as all my horses here, there are also some others, including two stallions aged four and six. I have just started to ride them and will hopefully be competing on them next month. They are such lovely horses.

Next month we’re going to Towerlands Premier Show where I will be competing on four or five of the horses. I am going to take a couple of my younger horses to give them a jump round for experience and practice. I am also going to compete on my other horses in the World Class Start and Potential under 23 British Open Qualifier. This is the qualifier for the British Open at Birmingham NEC. So hopefully, fingers crossed, we will do well.

There is also a Premier show at Arena UK towards the end of next month. I’m not too sure who I will be competing on as of yet, but I will probably take five or six.

Will write soon - best wishes Daniel.
