2006 Scholarship - Daniel Moseley’s Diary
As part of our exciting scholarship scheme, our
2006 scholar Daniel Moseley will be keeping us up to date with his
busy life in the show jumping world.
KBIS British Equestrian Scholar has had a busy month competing here
we catch up with him in his latest diary.
December 2006
Towards the end of December I competed at Olympia which was an amazing experience. I was placed 12th in the Accenture Young Show Jumper of the Year Novice Competition. I qualified to compete at Olympia last year but unfortunately couldn’t make it due to the horse having an injury, so I was really excited this year.
After Olympia, the horses and I have had a quiet month for the Christmas period. I think it’s always nice for the horses to have a rest after a bust season, and so Christmas seemed the best time before leading up to the Premier shows in the New Year. All the horses apart from Shadow Breaker, who I competed on at Olympia, are going to come back into work again after their break.
It’s been a nice relaxing month with no real added pressure, so it’s been really nice to have the time to enjoy Christmas to spend it with my friends and family. We celebrated Christmas this year by staying at home and eating lots of rich and nice food with all our relatives. I received lots of nice presents to enjoy over Christmas; my present to the horses was an extra day off with an extra big hay net.
I have decided to make a News Year’s resolution for January, to work really hard towards my next goal at the Premier Shows and to generally keep on improving. I am taking three of my horses to the Addington Premier Show. We will also be competing at the warm-up premier shows to get us going too.
Will write soon – best wishes Daniel.
