Back To Basics
With the hectic schedule of last month fading, this
month has given me the chance to concentrate on training and
preparation for the autumn. Dunauger has had a very quiet month. We
have had a few lessons with Chris Bartle, which has helped with
Dunauger’s training and fitness. We have been competing on the
showjumping circuit this month, jumping the BSJA Foxhunter classes.
This is always a good chance to improve on the showjumping aspect of
eventing for both Dunauger and me.
I am very pleased with Dunauger’s level of fitness and his training.
I now look forward to taking him to Aske One Day Event to compete in
the Open Intermediate class. We have also been working towards the
CIC*** at Barbury Castle International One Day Event.
Forget Me Not has really come a long way this month. I am really
pleased with her. She is showing some great potential and all she
needs now is plenty of experience. We have done our first three
Pre-Novice events together and have finished inside the
cross-country time at all three events.
Forget Me Not will also be going to Aske One Day Event to compete in
the Pre-Novice. After that she will have a break so she is ready for
a busy autumn.
Hopefully next month I will have plenty to tell you about, until
then happy riding!
