Winburn Park hosts the last of the JRN Classes for 2010

Winkburn Park Horse Trials provided the last opportunity for the selectors to watch junior riders before team selection for the JRN Championships, when it held the last of the KBIS JRN classes on Saturday 28th August.

With forty one starters the class was well contested with riders looking to make a good final impression. Stuart Higgins however didn't leave much opportunity for the others, leading from start to finish with a faultless performance, adding nothing onto his good dressage mark of 30.5 to take first place. Stuart claimed his victory on board the ten-year-old gelding Sarkcsillag Belfegar who has only started eventing this year and moved up to Novice after just four events at BE100 level.

Stuart from Norwich, was kept busy over the weekend with two other horses to compete, Master Hope who unfortunately had a stop cross country putting them out of the placings and Just Handy on whom he gained a 5th place in BE100 section D.

The KBIS JRN Championships at Western Park are now just six weeks away, running from the 8th – 10th October. Each of the eight regions will shortly be announcing their team selection, which will consist of four riders, who will be competing over three days to battle it out for both the team and individual Championship title.
