KBIS to support the British Riding Clubs New Championship Series

In response to riding clubs members request for a cross country competition aimed at grass roots riders, KBIS have teamed up with the British Riding Clubs (BRC) in the development of their exciting new venture, the Regional Hunter Trial Championships.

The Regional Hunter Trials will provide those riders who like to jump at a slightly lower level with their own prestigious cross country series.

There will be three classes for juniors and three classes for seniors; Novice (75cm), Intermediate (85cm) and Pairs, with the pairs running over the Novice course. Each of these three classes will then be split into Open and Restricted Riders. The Restricted section will be limited to those combinations who have never been registered with or competed with British Eventing (BE). The Open section will be open to those riders who ride at affiliated BE90 or BE100, and to horses which have competed at BE but have not been placed in the top six at a BE100 or have competed at Novice or higher.

It is planned that the series will be run in regions, with each region then having their own Championships. This will mean that those riders who qualify for the Championships will not be faced with having to travel long distances and the expenses of overnight accommodation. There will be three regions in total, although for the 2010- 2011 competition the series and Championships will be trialled in the northern region only. From the following year it will then be rolled out across the whole country and so be available for all BRC members
