Young Rider Takes Qualifying Ticket at Bridgend County Show

Bridgend County Show at Pencoed College provided sixteen-year-old Lowri Davies with her qualifying ticket to the KBIS Insurance British Novice Championships, which will be held on Monday 30th August at the British Show Jumping Scope Festival.

Lowri from Swansea jumped three foot perfect rounds with her mothers Goldata, completing the final timed round in 41.35 seconds. Second placed Amanda Foster finished just 0.2 seconds behin, which meant that she had to go home empty handed, with only one qualifying place on offer for the Championships.

Riders who have qualified to compete in a regional final have two opportunities in which to try and then gain qualification to the Championship. The first is by entering one regional final in their own region and the second by competing in one that takes places outside of their region. The number of riders who then qualify at each regional final is dependant on the number of the entries.
