Jennie and KBIS Zavir Triumph In Ireland
KBIS sponsored rider Jennie Lambert-Gibbs and KBIS Zavir headed over to Ireland on the 30th June with other members of Dressage Under 21 UK in order to compete in the Under 25 Dressage Championships. The championships which were held in Southern Ireland at Marlton Stud, on the outskirts of Wicklow saw riders from England, Wales and Ireland form teams to compete in this friendly international, which took place on the 3rd and 4th July.
Jennie and her support team of her father and sister, left the KBIS offices on Tuesday 29th June and headed to Wales to stay the night before taking the ferry across to Ireland with the rest of the Under 21 UK members and supporters.
A total of four teams went to represent Dressage Under 21 UK, an organisation that is dedicated to training and supporting young riders of the future. This consisted of two Pony teams, one Junior team and one Young Rider team in which Jennie was riding.
Dressage tests took place on both Saturday and Sunday from Novice up to Advanced level, with each individual rider competing at their own chosen level. The percentages of each of the four team members were then averaged in order to find the team total and the overall winners.
Jennie and Chav contested in four novice tests over the two days and did exceptionally well gaining over 70% in each one. By the close of the competition they had achieved three first placings and one second and the wonderful accomplishment of taking the Young Rider Novice Champion title.
Jennie and Zavir’s performance also put their team in a very strong position and with good performances from the other three members, Jade Guyton at Novice level and Alex Armstrong and Kate Mills at Medium; they shot to the top of the leader board and became the Young Rider Team Champions on a combined score of 69.32%.
The other three teams also did exceptionally well and took the Pony and Junior team title. You can view the full results from the Under 25 Championships by visiting the Marlton Stud site.
Jennie and Chav’s next major competition will be at the end of July when they will head to Hickstead to compete in the Dressage Master Championships Novice class.
