KBIS British Novice Regional Final at Limes Farm
Michaela Tomlinson from Surrey was one of only two riders to make it through to the third and final round of the KBIS Insurance British Novice Regional Final. Michaela riding her own seven-year-old bay gelding The Reveller had to battle it out with Candice Farmer and Our Duke II in order to take first place and more importantly the qualifying ticket for the final at the British Show Jumping Scope Festival.
The Reveller jumped a quick round in 43.97 seconds and despite having an unfortunate fence down it proved to be enough to take the lead with Our Duke II finishing on a slightly slower time of 47.18 seconds with two poles down. Third and fourth place went to the two quickest four faulters in the second round, India List Brain and Eric IV and Daryl Connock and Ashwey Calysto.
Wendy Connock of Limes Farm and her family worked hard to make the show a success, designing and making two new show jumps for the competition. Despite surprisingly low entries for the Regional Final, just twenty combinations started in the class, Wendy was pleased with the day and other classes were well supported. ‘Unfortunately our Regional Final date was changed from July to June and I don’t think many people realised this, which would account for the lower entries. We would all like to thank everyone for their continued support in using our centre and wish Michaela the best of luck of the Finals.’
There are still a further seven qualifying dates for the KBIS Insurance British Novice Championships, taking place at:
The Jays on Saturday 19 June
Waterford Farm on Sunday 27 June
Hanbury and District Show on Saturday 3 July
Market Bosworth Show on Sunday 4 July
Bridgend Show on Saturday 11 July
Scottish National Equestrian Centre on Sunday 18 July
